The Piedmont Track & Field team is the largest and most diverse sports program at Piedmont High School, with 100+ athletes between both the boys and girls teams, competing across 17 CIF events: sprints, distance, hurdles, jumps, and throws. Between our coaching staff we have multiple former-NCAA Cross Country and Track & Field athletes, and boast over 50 years of coaching experience.
We prioritize our core values which has helped create a great culture. These include:
- Creating a safe, inclusive, and fun environment for our athletes.
- Focusing on character and athletic development.
- Building a sustainable culture of success.
Our boys and girls teams have been highly competitive over the years, having won multiple WACC league titles, top 10 NCS finishes, and regularly sending athletes to prestigious events such as the CIF State Championship, and the Arcadia and Stanford Invitationals. Over the last 3 seasons alone we've broken 6 all-time school records, including multiple that are decades old. Beyond this, there are former Piedmont Track & Field athletes scattered across collegiate programs, some having won NCAA national championships and others having set school records.
Track and field is a no-cut sport, and we welcome any and all student athletes that are willing to commit to attending practice and meets, work hard, and be a team player.
